This was the robot that I worked in conjunction with students and my fellow mentors at the Boys and Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster to design, manufacture, and build. It went through some prototyping and iteration before we arrived on the final design.

The goal of this challenge was to place cubes and cones on the scoring grid on boxes and posts respectively, and balance on a see-saw at the end of the game. We utilized a 2DOF arm design to accomplish picking up the game pieces, initially intending to use an intake and normalize to hand off the piece, which didn’t work so we ended up picking up directly from the ground.
